Overview of Leamington Estate

Leamington Estate comprises a beautifully opulent beachfront property set within two glorious acres of tropical gardens. It is a magical setting and is perfect for families or large groups seeking a spectacular and personalised holiday experience

Designed by Oliver Messel, the property is a fascinating example of his distinctive style, with outdoor and indoor living spaces blending seamlessly together.  During his stay at the villa in the 1950s, Messel discovered Leamington and received a commission to rebuild it. He turned it into one of the most stunning properties on the island. Now, the renovation and refurbishment have blended fine furnishings, antiques, and European & Caribbean inspired art pieces into the decor.

The setting and luxurious services offered at the Leamington Estate can easily make you feel miles away from the hustle and bustle of the island if you just want to relax. But is easily in striking distance of bars, shops and restaurants if you want to sample everything that Barbados has to offer.  Concierge services are on hand to arrange reservations and indeed anything else that tickles your fancy.

Guests can rent Leamington Cottage separately or together with the Estate to provide an extra bedroom if needed. We welcome children upon special request.

Bedrooms

The four bedrooms at the Estate all have air conditioning and feature air conditioning for your comfort. Warm lighting enhances the charming decor, fine linens, and painted furnishings. Thus, creating a cozy yet spacious environments to unwind at the end of the day.

The bedrooms are located in two separate wings of the villa. The luxurious master bedroom features a canopied king-size bed that opens onto a trellised sitting area with vines and a television for your enjoyment. It also offers stunning views over the gardens and the pool.

Bedrooms 2 and 3 have twin beds that can be pushed together to form a king size.  The master bedroom and bedroom 3 have bath and shower in the en-suite, while the other two just have a shower.

Communal Areas

The central main salon opens out onto a spacious covered terrace area. This is great for casual dining and entertaining large groups. Yet it remains cosy enough for more intimate evenings with close friends.  Wicker furniture, white pillows and curtains create a breezy atmosphere that is perfect for outdoor living.

A separate formal dining room surrounds you in classical statues, niches framed in shells and coral, marble table and flowered trellises around the entranceways that sing of a truly romantic atmosphere.

Beyond the main terrace is the swimming pool which provides the perfect place for morning swims, afternoon dips to cool off or even late night soaks.  Immaculate lawns surround the pool area with an abundance of loungers and chairs for relaxation. Along with two enchanting gazebos designed by a local architect which further hints of Messel’s trademark ideas and designs.  One provides a great place for casual al fresco dining and the other contains loungers and seating, making it a great shady respite.  Leamington is the perfect place to do nothing.

The gardens back onto a stretch of the Caribbean Sea, and the pristine sands on the beach are great to take a stroll along. With the waters inviting you to explore the marine life on the reefs, or even to say hello to visiting turtles – a true delight to all those that visit.

Staff

In addition to the stunning surroundings at the estate, the excellent staff offers a high standard of service. With a butler, cook, housekeeper, maid, gardener, night watchman and a dedicated manager of the property to oversee everything and ensure your comfort.

Kindly note, our housekeepers aren’t trained nannies and cannot be expected to babysit infants and children. If you do make babysitting arrangements with the staff, please be advised this is at your own risk.

The levy on accommodation, collected in resort, will cost between US$2.50 (£1.90) and $17.50 (£14.50 for 5* Hotels) per room per night.
